Last summer, I had the pleasure of meeting Amanda Kloots, someone who had been an inspiration to me ever since I, like the rest of the world, followed her journey with grief following the tragic passing of her husband, Nick Cordero, to COVID-19. Amanda showcased incredible strength, vulnerability and grace during this extraordinarily difficult time, all while juggling new motherhood. I was in awe of her ability to keep a positive attitude in spite of this terrible grief.
Only a year later, I found myself facing a deep loss of my own - my newborn son, Austin. Amanda became someone I looked up to and felt profoundly connected to during this time. Shortly thereafter, I met Amanda at one of my private piercing events and we immediately bonded over our shared hardships, but also our commitment to moving forward with love, light and hope.
Amanda shared with me that for both of us Pisces this was our “Emerald Year” - the year our star sign is favored and due to be filled with luck and miracles. To celebrate this rare occurrence, and mark an exciting fresh start for us both, we decided to collaborate on a special collection filled with fun motifs; stars, rainbows, butterflies, hearts, and of course, “Nick’s Note” to honor his love of Music.
10% of proceeds from this collection will go directly to @ourhousegrief whose mission is to provide our greater community with grief support, services, education, resources, and hope.
