Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!”

Though we live wholly on Jesus’ forgiveness and mercy almost all of the time, we are many times slow to forgive people around us. With this statement he makes to Peter, he’s gives us the realization how important it is to love and forgive our neighbors as Christ does the same for us.
