Oat ingredients have been used for a long time to help with skin inflammation and irritation, but did you know that oat helps us achieve a healthier skin barrier by acting like a ceramide precursor? The peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) have been shown to have an important role in skin barrier function by regulating differentiation and lipid synthesis in skin cells, exerting anti-inflammatory effects, expediting the wound healing process, as well as leading to the formation of a more rigid skin barrier. The study found that oat lipids induced robust PPARs activation, which enhanced skin cell differentiation and skin lipids (ceramides) synthesis, whereas other plant oils did not have an effect. The study also measured the total ceramides level in skin cells, and it was found that the cells treated with oat lipids had a significant increase in ceramides level compared with untreated. Cells treated with 400 ppm (0.04%) oat lipids for 7 days showed more than a whopping 70% increase in total ceramide levels compared with control [1]! Our Oat Milk PHA Serum contains 2.0% oat lipid + protein + extract, which is way over the 0.04% oat oil used in the study, making it a great barrier synthesizing serum on top of the great benefits 5% lactobionic acid provides! . . . . . . . #skincareroutine #exfoliate #acne #pha #clearskin #antiaging #oilyskin #glowingskin #exfoliation #lactobionic #aha #skincaretips #skinbarrier #smoothskin #menskincare #oatmilk #sensitiveskin #sensitiveskincare #Ceramides #ceramide #cocokind #cerave #skincareblogger #skincarecommunity #skincarescience #skincarejunkie #skincareaddict #dewyskin #cerave
