PHA, especially lactobionic acid, is a great anti-aging ingredient. The acid itself is gentle enough to be used around the eye area. A 12-weeks study shows that 8% of lactobionic acid can reduce periocular fine lines significantly.
Retinoid, another type of powerful anti-aging ingredient that pairs greatly with PHAs. PHAs moisturize, reduce irritation, and promote a healthier skin barrier, which is complementary to retinoid effects.
If you have sensitive skin, pair lactobionic acid with granactive retinoid (Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate, or HPR). HPR is an effective alternative to retinol or other retinoids but without irritation.
