Our favourite horses.. Number 8: Kauto Star. Kauto Star is a retired French-bred National Hunt champion racehorse. He was trained by Paul Nicholls in Somerset and owned by Clive Smith. He won the Cheltenham Gold Cup twice, in 2007 and 2009, and was the first horse to regain the cup after losing it. He also won the King George VI Chase a record five times. He is one of the most successful steeplechasers of the modern era, having amassed a huge £2,375,883 in earnings. Following his retirement, Kauto Star moved to Laura Collett's yard to start a career in #dressage. He gave a demonstration at Olympia in December 2014 and is likely to compete in 2015. Unfortunatley, he won't be going to #Rio2016 as he's considered to be too old now. Here are Kauto's vital stats...
