Today is Waitangi Day in Aotearoa. On this day in 1840, Te Titiri o Waitangi (the treaty of Waitangi) was signed between representatives of the British Crown and more than 500 Māori chiefs over sovereignty of the land. This document drastically shaped the history of our beautiful Aotearoa. The 6th of February is a enormously significant date in New Zealand's history. We are proud to call beautiful Aotearoa home but as a country we know we have a long way to go to create true equity. And as a company we know we can do better too. Kia whakatōmuri te haere whakamua. Regardless of where you've come from or where you may go - if you’ve made Aotearoa your home, the story of Waitangi Day is your story too.
