We're creating a buzz for World Bee Day because these clever creatures deserve all the hype they can get! 🐝
Fun fact: bee's have an exceptional sense of smell, and their odorant receptors allow them to tell the difference between the types of flowers they get their nectar and pollen from.
Pollination is a vital process for the survival of our ecosystems. Nearly 90% of the world’s wild flowering plant species depend partly or entirely on animal pollination, along with more than 75% of the world’s food crops. Not only do pollinators contribute directly to the food we eat, but they are key to conserving biodiversity. In some parts of the world, insect populations have declined by more than 75%... our survival, literally depends on their survival 🌼
You can help by learning more about our bug pals and filling your garden with plenty of insect-friendly greenery like lavender, rosemary and borage. Let's make a home for the creepy crawlies who pollinate our crops, create our soil and break down the waste so they can do what they do best! #WorldBeeDay #Savethebees
