Mangroves - the little trees that could! 🌱 On Earth Day last year, we made a pledge that from that day on and forever more, we would plant a tree with our partner @ecologi_hq, a gold standard accredited carbon credit provider for every order placed on our website.
So far, we’ve planted over 260,000 of them and our next goal is 400,000 by the end of this year! 🥳
Many of these trees are mangroves, planted to restore existing mangrove forests which had been destroyed. Mangroves sequester carbon at a rate two to four times greater than mature tropical forests. They provide benefits to fisheries, help regulate sediment flows and provide storm and tsunami protection for many coastal ecosystems 🌱🌊
