Most shampoos and conditioners are more than 70% water. This didn't make sense to us. Especially when you're using them in the shower.
Our paste formulas are 3x concentrated and completely anhydrous (water-free). Because of this, they require significantly less packaging and use less carbon to ship. When you look at our shampoo ingredient list, instead of water as the first item (highest concentration) you'll see vegetable glycerin, coconut-derived cleanser and aloe vera as our top 3. Think skincare for your scalp.
Another benefit of going waterless is that our products can be safely preservative-free. In cosmetic formulas, water is what 'feeds' bacteria growth so by going waterless, we're also creating formulas that are super clean, for both you and the environment. We're paying attention to what goes down the drain.
