In solidarity with Indigenous peoples across the nation, we are choosing to opt out of Canada Day celebrations out of respect for this period of national mourning. Instead, we are taking the opportunity to showcase a few Indigenous-owned restaurants that are serving up traditional fare—from the authentic to the modern, and everything in between. • Show your support by wearing black or orange today in solidarity with the #EveryChildMatters campaign.
• Canadians spend an average of around $91 on fireworks and other themed items for July 1st. If you are able to, consider donating $91 (or any amount you choose) to the Indian Residential School Survivors Society instead → www.irsss.ca.
