“Choose Joy” I have a post it on my bathroom mirror that says Choose Joy, and I read it as I get ready. I prime my mind and focus to find the joy in everything throughout my day.
At any given moment, you can always find what’s wrong, but you can always find what’s going right. We can always find things to suck the joy out of life… which also means we can always find ways to experience joy in an instant.
Choosing joy is a practice, a habit, a pattern. We are constantly practicing being ourselves in a sense, so why not make it part of who you are and practice choosing joy?
Right now, as you read this, begin listing everything that brings you joy and all the ways you can create more joy. Try to see how many ways you can find or create joy!
If you struggle finding examples, that’s ok - it just means you are out of practice and you may have been practicing blame or finding the negative. It may feel awkward at first, but I promise, if you keep at it, eventually it can be just as familiar as finding reasons to be down or complacent.
