This transformation Tuesday is brought to you by a girl who no longer gives AF. A girl who is okay with her body and loves living life. A girl who doesn’t hide behind someone else when she gets her picture taken. A WOMAN who is proud to say she’s birthed a child and her body has been through a lot! I had lunch with my Grandma this week and she told me the most hilarious story. A story of being oblivious. She had lived in the same house for 50 years and the only mirror she ever used was a bathroom mirror that showed her reflection from the neck up. She recently moved to a 55+ apartment at the age of 84 and she now has a VERY LARGE bathroom mirror. Her first time out of the shower she stopped dead in her tracks, who is that?! What happened to my boobs?! The idea that my grandma has lived the last 50 years hiding from her body absolutely baffled me, until I remembered I spent most of my life doing the same. Terrified of my own body. When I was 27 I started to look at myself more, actually look at my body and see it for what it was. It was SCARY! I decided at this time I would start sleeping naked and walking around naked more often. Now I never think twice about it and wearing clothing of any kind to bed is absolutely awful!!! I feel like my posture has improved, I’m less self conscious and more willing to just not give AF about what my body image is and more about how I feel. I could never go back to being ashamed of the body I use everyday for so many important things. Look at yourself, admire yourself, GET NAKED! Enjoy it!
