In June 2008, Christian Boros opened part of his valuable collection of contemporary art to the public in a bunker built in 1942 in the centre of Berlin. Within a period of five years, this structure was renovated into a spectacular private museum with eighty rooms of different heights and not a single ray of natural light. The first permanent exhibition features selected sculptures, installations, and light and performance works, each of which refers to the special and complex spatial situation of the bunker, making it possible to tangibly experience each space.
Together with the photographs by Noshe, this volume documents the pieces in this unusual exhibition context and invites the reader to discover the lesser-known stances and young talents alongside famous figures.
