Matt Burgess is the master of the lost wax technique. He starts by painstakingly sculpting a wax figure around which he constructs a mould. The wax is melted and removed and the remaining cavity is filled with lead crystal. He aims to capture the rawness of these "states of being," reflecting a universal human condition through the simplicity of the figure and its stark surroundings.
