Heavily oxidised sterling silver SKAR ring with fold formed centre crease. All Lyleu rings are handcrafted to order by Sally Leung. Visible marks and indentations in the metal's surface are deliberate and an organic result of the process involved in the ring's creation.
With the environment in mind, Sally uses citric acid with water for metal pickling (cleaning), as opposed to a chemical acid pickle. Her light filled Sydney studio is set up in the sunroom of her house and features a large window, which means the use of less electricity during the day and optimum ventilation. Like most of the jewellery artisans Fallow represents, Sally saves all metal cut-offs to reuse as much as possible in-studio.
