Does protein make you fat? No, protein doesn’t make you fat. But Grace, so many people tell me it does. Yeahhhhh, no.
Protein is crucial for muscle growth & its the building block literally for what makes humans. Our muscles, tendons, skin, hair, nails, organs, hormones, everything.
Everyone can benefit from protein. Old, young, overweight, underweight. Protein actually helps you lose weight (including fat loss) because it boosts your metabolism & keeps you fuller longer.
What makes you gain weight is when you eat more calories than you burn. So if you’re over here eating too much for your own good, yes you’re going to gain weight. But it’s not because of protein. It’s because of the overall excess calories.
To make sure you’re not eating too much protein you’ll need 1g per lb bodyweight or your goal weight. For example, I’m 115 lbs but my goal weight is 120 lbs so I need 120g protein every day.
Please don’t be scared of protein and question anyone who tells you anything, including me 👍🏼
I appreciate everyone who shares this to others who are also confused about protein 💛 yall are amazing!!
