Before this workout my last experience with the heavy heavy jump rope was crossfitgames in 2016. I absolutely got my butt kicked and was honestly *embarrassed*.
When we checked into WZA we got fitted for which rope length was best for us and I was brought right back to the Games field of doing singles (maybe doubles) for 30+ reps. I was not able to do more than 5 in warm up, and left a little nervous that I would let my team and myself down because of a JUMP ROPE.
For the past couple of years, when I get nervous about a movement or workout instead of worrying, I practice closing my eyes and visualizing myself doing the movement successfully. I did this every time I got scared over the next 24 hours (probably excessive), but when I got the rope I’m my hands I took a deep breath and was able to do bigger sets like I practiced in my head.
It’s crazy to me how much of each workout/movement/life in general is effected by mindset and attitude. 10
years into this you would think I have it all figured out, but I surprise myself with how much I continue to learn every day.
Some days are better than others, but one thing I will not lack for my team this season is effort and good attitude for each workout. We GET to do this, and I could not be more proud of the people I get to do this with on a daily basis cfovertake ❤️
