When you talk about water skiing, most people think about visiting their family’s cabin on the lake over the summer or hopping out of the boat for some s’mores and cooler of beer by the bonfire. And I get it, I’m young and I already feel nostalgia for the days on the water of my childhood. But most people have only seen a glimpse of how much water skiing has evolved. So let me tell you, it’s not your grandpa’s sport anymore. 🙅🏼♀️
Being a professional water skier is one of the most dynamic and demanding jobs in the world. It’s equal parts 1) the application the physics of athletics and 2) the optimization of equipment down to the thousandth of an inch. The lake is my office, the boat is my business partner (we don’t always get along btw), and the industry is in one its most transformative periods in history.
Having my name on the elite women’s slalom roster right now could not be more of a privilege. I’m standing side-by-side with my female competitors as we fight for what’s ours and I’m going to do it for years to come. ✊🏼
