Some days are just HARD. Like, the type of hard that makes you want to quit. But it’s in those moments when we get to decide whether we will be trained by the discipline or run from it. & when we choose to STAY IN IT, that’s where we grow, that’s where we learn, that’s where we CHANGE. This morning was one of those days. My second workout was a 5 round piece and I wanted to stop after 2 rounds. My body wasn’t working right, my mind was weak, and it was so freaking HOT 🥵. I contemplated changing the reps, lengthening the rest, and even stopping all together. It’s in these moments I’ve learned that I have to TALK to the chatter in my brain. “You CAN do this.” “Your body IS working.” “You are not a quitter.” “Focus on what you can control.” After round 2, I took it one round at a time and wound up finishing every round within the allotted time domain. It wasn’t fast, it wasn’t a good score, but that’s okay. This one became about finishing for me, and I’m so glad I did. “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” [HEBREWS 12:11] . Workout was: 5 ROUNDS (1 every 8 minutes) 200m run 10 c+j 115/80 5 rope climbs 200m run 10 c+j . 📸 bownmedia mayhemathlete
