So I cried in the OBGYN office this week. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m on my second OB since we moved so this is only the second time I’ve met this doctor. The staff are wonderful but after waiting for an hour, during lunch time, I was not ready for the appointment to start with, “That’s a big stomach for 22 weeks.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Welp. Thanks? Fuck you? I’m sorry? What do you even say? After that fun start, a quick ultrasound, and a very short, otherwise uneventful appointment (thankfully), I said see ya in 4 weeks, walked to the bathroom, and started crying. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hormones are a bitch. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I was mad. I was mad I was crying. I was mad that a doctor felt like it was okay to comment on my size. I was mad that it bothered me because honestly... I feel great this time around. My body feels stronger, I feel more at peace with how it’s changing and honestly, it’s my second kid, I knew my body would show bigger, faster. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This isn’t about you telling me I look great and screw that doctor! - I already know that. I’m just glad this happened with my second baby and not my first. With Lucas, I struggled so much with my body changing and constantly weighed myself. This time around? I haven’t even looked at the scale and am just enjoying the last time I grow a human. Which is why I was shocked it bothered me so much. Guess it’s time to go back to my Miami doctor. 🫠🫶🏽 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Besides, as my best friend said, “Your belly is supposed to be big. You’re growing a human.” #22weekspregnant #fitmom #boymom
