When I think of what used to be my “normal” gym workouts, I think of straight sets and supersets of compound exercises and accessory pieces. My background is in bodybuilding (bikini counts!), so these were my “normal” workouts before introducing myself to weightlifting and kettlebells. Even though it’s no longer the meat of my programming, I lean on my bodybuilding background when it comes to using accessory work as a tool, especially when a muscle isn’t helping in the way it should be in a compound movement.
I often have myself and my clients pair a windmill variation with pulldowns to help make a greater connection with the lats, so this is the perfect example of how I marry my two worlds together!
