It’s NEVER to late to pick up something new ❤️☺️ I grew up with traditional sports (soccer, basketball, softball, tennis, flag football). Most of the time I had to be on co-ed teams because there were never enough girls to fill a team, let along a league. I not only had to be as tough as the guys, but better than them. I needed to show that I belonged and I could keep up. This really fueled my competitiveness. I was able to get a tennis and softball scholarship in college 🎾🥎 and this is where I first truly learned about weight training. As I graduated and found myself searching for something to keep my competitive edge going I tried bodybuilding. Hated it. Went to powerlifting. Liked it a little more, but still feel like I’m missing something. I am 36 and did my first weightlifting competition. And I am in love 🏋🏽‍♀️. I am so excited to continue my powerlifting, but to add in weightlifting! Possibly give up PL all together, but I’m still trying to figure it out (but don’t worry you’ll still find me spotting and loading the platforms 😉). I am so excited for a new sport and to make these moves with hunterelam x movemountainstraining I started with her 3 day a week and moving into 1:1 Next stop 2023 Illinois State Weightlifting Championships 📸 stellarshotsstl
