Is Transformation Thursday a thing? 🤔🤷🏼‍♀️🫣 Its always interesting to look back to high school.. to college. —> to remember how much I actually hated soooo much about myself. …about my body, about my choices, about what was going on in my world. I *know* hate is a strong word, but man, it was dark!!! 👉🏼 I was uncomfy in my skin (literally every single second). I’d hide in between my friends so that I could appear smaller in photos. I’d NEVER want to be on the end in a group picture where you could see my arms. I’d find shirts to wear ~out~ that had sleeves as often as I could to hide the parts of me I was really ashamed of. I’d obsess over how my stomach and arms looked in photos. I’d drink to blackout so that I had an “excuse” for any of the number of shitty things I did. I’d over eat when I was sad, but I’d also over eat when I was happy. Or just, for any reason. I just over ate. (I knew NOTHING about nutrition or how to fuel my body or anythingggg) // I’m not saying that you have to lose weight to be happy. I am not saying you have to do Crossfit to be happy (lol or am I??? Jkjkjk) What I want to share with you all is that there is ✨HOPE✨ for you if you feel lost, alone, or sad. There’s better times to come. There’s freedom from those feelings of helplessness (from yourself, or your situation). I found freedom in sport. crossfit changed my life. The daily habits day in and day out - those changed my life. The people & community I am around every day - they change my life - daily. // There was a shift in how I thought about my body. About what I am capable of doing everyday. I am grateful for the journey. It coulda gone a really dark, self destructive way, for sure. And it did for a little bit there. But I am so glad its gone this way. I’m grateful. // Long ramble this morning, but lately I’ve been sharing Thursday Thoughts and this one was a big one for me this morning. Love you all, and I mean it 🤟🏼✨
