Small but mighty 💪🏼
(for those thinkin I’m taller than 5’3 1/2”)
Wednesdays are my check in day with kelskiel // blackironnutrition . I just want to be as transparent as possible. Since REALLY eating for performance the past 4 months we have put on some muscle. Not only has my training increased (by a lot- thanks tristonp_coaching ) but I have been eating in a surplus. With that, I have put on some fat as well. And this is normal. Meaning, I don’t wake up as “lean” as I did during my cut. For many people, esp in a sport that trains nearly naked, this can be a hard pill to swallow. It’s really why every check in I first talk about how I am performing in the gym. What the scale says comes last. I’m grateful for what this body can do, but I am also STILL working on reversing what tabloids, childhood dieting trauma, the ol womens “body standard” that I was always striving for, and wanting to see that scale always “less”. It has taken so much WORK. Being a woman is hard. I am so thankful I am in a sport that encourages us to work on our health, muscles, fueling, women empowerment, and the list goes on.
so. I’m gonna encourage you (if you are anything like me and can be a little mean to your body sometimes) to just ✨be kind✨. We are literally the most important person we speak to everyday. I am going to make it my goal to not say anything negative about my body this next month. Whose with me?!?
Also, if you are ready to break the “fad diet” cycle and really work on a lifestyle shift, I highly recommend getting a coach who can guide you!
Pic 2 👉🏼 not flexing, if only my quads looks like that when I was relaxed Lmaoo. Keepin it real.
Ps- men, I know y’all struggle with this, too. And I know it’s hard fitting into a standard as well. I am here for you, also, I just don’t have the same experience 🫶🏻
