Monthly challenge complete! Back Squat, Deadlift and Bench Press. All lifts I haven’t actually trained in a year plus or really ever (bench) and I PR’d every lift by over 20lbs🥹 The last time I PR’d to what I hit this month. Back Squat: 245lbs Dec. 2022 - 269lbs Dec. 2023 (and a close miss at 275lbs that I plan on hitting next week) Deadlift: 330lbs April 2019 - 361.5lbs Dec. 2023 (literally wasn’t deadlifting for strength with my injury history) Bench: 155lbs July 2017 - 163lbs May 2023 randomly in class - 185lbs Dec. 2023 (had a close miss at 190lbs which will happen soon enough) To hit these numbers without training these lifts is huge! It means that with my overall strength improving, it translates to improving these specifically. I’m just imagining what numbers I could hit with some training on these lifts😏 My strength has always been my downfall in CrossFit. I was never one of the ‘strong’ girls in the gym and now I’m right up there with the top few numbers in the gym regardless of bodyweight. I was always strong for my bodyweight but in CrossFit that just doesn’t matter. Injury after injury and time on and off again and again I never had the ability to be consistent in gaining strength. Now being healthy, putting on a little weight, and being able to be consistent with weight training my numbers have insanely improved. And we’re just getting started, so buckle up because we aren’t even close to being done. Next up, testing Olympic lifts and 1 RM Front Squat which I’m most excited about! I train those the most and through the years wasn’t making progress due to those injuries and it was so frustrating and disappointing, to see it all coming together makes me genuinely SO happy and excited! Bring it on 2024💪🏼
