“Sometimes the smallest things hold the biggest impact on our hearts and minds. On the evening of January 10th, a tiny package arrived on my doorstep, and inside it held an even smaller object that upheld profound significance. The small box contained a beautiful rose gold ring. A ring that held a promise to choose yourself - a simple reminder to always love and respect yourself. This came on a significant date, as ten years prior a small 14-year-old girl was set free as her abuser passed from this world. Ten years later, this girl has become a woman - a bold and daring force to be reckoned with. This is not just a simple ring, this is a gift to myself where each and every day I can look at this beautiful reminder and remember the promise I made to myself ten years ago. I promised to keep going...to become who I have always wanted to be with no boundaries or limitations...for once in my life I wanted to be truly and utterly me. I have held trials and tribulations throughout my life, but I have become unwaveringly confident and at times incredibly outlandish in happiness and positivity. To this day, when people try to bring me down, I can say I have fared worse. Yet, what keeps me going is the thought of how far that small girl has come, and how far she still has to go. To those who suffer or have suffered from child abuse - speak up, practice forgiveness and make a promise to yourself to never lose sight of who you truly are. You'll never have thought that one day you'll look back to see that you've climbed mountains and that it has made you one of the strongest forces you'll ever have the pleasure of knowing. Be kind, love yourself, and keep going...?” We love you so much, @graceelizabethbeal. Welcome to the tribe!
