"After a tough upbringing, I fought my way against statistics to one day became a teacher in Title 1 schools. Achieving the things I wanted in life, namely independence and sufficiency, led me to realize how badly I needed to escape other things that were holding me back. I heard the plan for me and started to act. This plan involved dropping everything- a long-term, perpetually cheating boyfriend, fake "best friends", and harmful circumstances both emotionally and physically- to achieve my long awaiting dream of moving to Austin, TX. Wasting half of my 20s on poisonous people in uninspiring, ultimately volatile places became a huge awakening to getting what I want out of life. Now, I am blissfully teaching in the great city of Austin, TX all on my own, reconnecting with distant family members, and starting a life that is MUCH more focused on ME! That's why Thanksgiving I finally gave thanks to myself and bought myself the pinky promise to always "choose myself". Thank you all SO much for sharing this idea with the world. I hope it catches on and more women feel bold enough to treat themselves, worship themselves, and most importantly, choose themselves
