When my parents were dating, my dad went to a local flower shop and bought out their entire stock of this delicate, hopeful flower and presented it to his then girlfriend, my mom. This was over 35 years ago, long before these flowers were trending. A lessor woman would have seen a bounty of cheap filler flower. But my mother was one in a million. A glorious girl from another realm. Disconnected from superficiality and status. My mother knew he was offering her the world.
