Plant Spirit Offering - THE MAKING Of THE SUMMER SOLSTICE KAFTAN ? This moment right here has been in the making for 25 years. The simplicity of this image and the plants and fabric chosen is rooted in decades of working with natural plant dyeing and my personal journey with the Wise Woman Tradition of Herbal Medicine. At the age of 15 I had an allergic reaction to a tetanus shot and woke up a week later and could not walk or hold down any food. The doctors could not figure out what was wrong with me and eventually diagnosed me with a severe case of Gillian Barr. Over the next year I slowly learned how to walk again and began to heal but it was at that moment I began to realize that what I eat, wear, and even the energy around me effects my vitality. I had no idea at the age of 15 that I would be bringing this forward by making naturally dyed organic clothing (that started about 5 years later) but I did know that whatever I did it had to involve a more holistic lifestyle and a deeper connection to Gaia. For the last 5 years or so I’ve been working behind the scenes to develop some very special pieces that combine the energetics, medicinal properties, and of course the colors that Mother Gaia provides. In an effort to narrow down and fine tune each OFFERING my jumping off point is a different offering for each sabbath in the Wheel Of The Year.
