Hip strengthening(hip external rotation) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The movement: 1. Sit in a true 90/90 2. Actively drive both legs into the floor with more of an emphasis on driving the front leg down. 3. As you begin to hinge, you want your torso going forward as well as down, and not just down over the front leg. 4. Once you get to your lowest point without compensating, you will put your hands down and use your arms to assist you back up. You are looking to focus your energy in the eccentric portion(the negative) of the movement. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Benefits: 1. Improved overall competency, resiliency, and strength at the hips. 2. Potential reduction of back, knee, and hip pain/stiffness. 3. Improved efficiency for those who need increased hip external rotation like yogis, multidirectional athletes, and dancers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Though I am demonstrating hip external rotation as a stand-alone movement, you need to please consider that there are a handful of other things that happen dynamically with any additional videos or pictures that I show. Hope this helps, and I’ll see you next time team! #chadisrad #coach #athlete
