Handmade Lotion
(all ingredients are measured by weight)
48 ounces distilled water
5 ounces grapeseed oil
4 ounces coconut oil
2.4 ounces emulsifying wax
2.4 ounces stearic acid
2 ounces glycerin
.8 ounces Germaben II .4 ounces skin-safe fragrance oil or essential oil
Combine the first 6 ingredients and melt in a double boiler on medium heat until liquid. Remove from heat and add Germaben II and fragrance or essential oil. Mix with an electric stick blender 8-10 minutes to ensure proper emulsification. Pour into bottles. Lotion will thicken as it cools.
