We stand in solidarity with black, indigenous, and people of colour and add our voice to the fight against systemic racism. We understand that we will never understand and acknowledge that we could’ve done more earlier. We vow to better educate ourselves and use our platform to share BIPOC creators’ voices and work.
We’ve tagged organisations supporting BIPOC people in our home country of Australia and internationally that we’ve donated to and we encourage you to read more about their work and, if you can, make a donation too.
There are also a number of petitions supporting BIPOC organisations and causes that you can sign through @amnesty and @blklivesmatter, ActionNetwork, and @ChangedotOrg to support justice for George Floyd, Belly Mujinga, Ahmaud Arbery, Tanya Day, and encourage reform of discriminatory policies. We've linked in our stories the petitions that our team has signed.
As an Australian company with a global community, we acknowledge that we can and must do more to support local and international BIPOC creators through our platforms. We are currently taking steps to broaden the diversity of our ambassador program. We are committed to sharing more diverse content from BIPOC creators through our social media channels and our storytelling platform Gobe Magazine.
We believe making positive change and challenging systemic racism starts with listening, learning and taking active steps to be supportive instead of being neutral. If you’d like to suggest more actions we could take, we are listening. As we work on making our content more representative and diverse, we will be pausing our usual posting and sharing information and resources about how we can all support those who need it.
