The Painted Hills in Oregon offer fascinating insights into the planet's past and future. They started to evolve 40 million years ago, and fluctuating temperatures formed the different coloured bands in the landscape. Red sediments were formed in warm tropical environments, while cooler, drier climates formed yellow bands. Photographer @marissa_marino documented the hills in photos, with the belief that as climate change persists, it's important for us to deepen our relationships with places like these.
