The following repost from @her.use makes my heart swell. Making jewelry is one thing, having it mean something to someone makes me feel whole. From Carley--"Yesterday marked the 10th anniversary of my father's death. A loss that took a very, very large chunk of my 17 year old heart and left me feeling forever aimless. These last couple of weeks leading up to that milestone have been unreasonably dark. Lots of time spent unintentionally mulling over the saddest memories and opening myself to be invaded with some particularly paralyzing anxiety like I've never experienced before. It covered me like a shroud. Despite several attempts to distance myself from it, I couldn't escape those quickly creeping thoughts. That's just how it goes. There's no switch for grief, there's no controlling what you get triggered by, there's really no preparing for such a spirit crushing pain even when you know such milestones are coming. There are, however, thousands of ways to cope- be it surrounding myself in nature or connecting with those who know the monstrous faces of grief and anxiety. I FEEL SO LUCKY TO HAVE YOU PEOPLE! Thank you for being here! I never wanted this anniversary to be shut in a box and kept in the dark. I wanted to celebrate the 17 years I had with my favorite guy, and @hawkhousedesigns absolutely got that when she made this gorgeous watermelon tourmaline ring for me. Something I'll always have to remind me of all the bitter sweet moments, and something to comfort me on my trip to the last beautiful place where my father and I spent time together." --Carley G. @her.use
