My husband and I have decided to honor our sabbath day by doing (and not doing) activities that set it apart from our week days. This past Sunday was very hard for both of us because we decided that our hobbies, while enjoyable, could also be set aside for one day out of the week.
Although we were both very antsy (we are used to spending our down time in our workspaces) this decision has already shown its worth! I have been going through a creative block and usually when I'm frustrated creatively I just plow through it until something good catches my interest again. Instead, going on a hobby fast for one day every week is forcing me to be patient and let my mind rest. I woke up yesterday with a page full of ideas that I know I wouldn't have thought of without making my mind take a step back for 24 hours.
