I've posted a few more handwoven/handbeaded necklaces in my shop this morning. This group used my absolute favorite handspun wool - I had to beg the spinner to make me one last skein before she closed up shop and she used up her last remnants to send them to me. I rarely use the yarn because I know I can't get it again but adding a few pieces to these necklaces seemed appropriate.
The center one features a genuine vintage squash blossom piece between two silver African charms. If you live out of the states you might not know what they are - in the South of the USA squash blossom necklaces are made from different colored turquoise and hand stamped metals and they can be pretty expensive because of the handmade care - they are definitely statement accessories. If you drive through the southern states you can find Native American stands and shops in the desert selling this type of jewelry - my grandparents always stop to buy a piece or two!
