Sorry for the late post, I had to build camp. What a day! And in case you hadn't guessed, trout fishing was the mission. It is ones of the hardest activities to learn, requires extreme patience, skill, fitness if spot fishing, like today where we hiked 8hours straight, looking for trout then trying to fool them into our fake insects on perfectly presented lines. It's not only an art, but it's an activity that takes you deep into Lord of the Rings territory so to speak. I have seen more corners of NZ doing this than any other sport, job or recreation. It has also put me into some extreme weather, near hypothermia and stuck in the bush situations. I always let someone know where we go, and when to expect us out. I also always pack appropriately. Which is hard when you are carrying everything. Icebreaker layers are the best. They are light, easy to stuff in a bag and most importantly they are of the best wool in the world, meaning not if but when I'm wet, I stay warm. But I always have a wet set for all day, and a dry set for right now, around the fire! If you can guess which part of my #icebreaker gear is my favourite on this mission, type it into the comments on this picture and the cool team @icebreakernz will pick a person with the correct answer and send that person that item plus a full base layer set!!!!!! You could live in that combination. HINT: you will have to watch the full set of Insta stories I load up now while settling into my camp fire, to get an idea of my favourite piece of Icebreaker gear
