A client sent this picture to me to ask this is yours right?:) She bought it years ago in Chicano Park! Goes to show the longevity of #ilaments. As I took metal courses in college, I found a way to express my culture through my craft. In 1999, you couldn't find sugar skulls like you do now in #target or everywhere for that matter. I put my metalsmithing skills to work and added a coral flower to represent how we honor our loved ones with flowers. Now almost 18 years later we have #coco and so many amazing #sugarskull designs. I pushed myself in those early years to be creative, to design when I couldn't find what I was looking for. This Vida Skull is a little treasure of my early years hustling from event to the next event. It was also a time when I was volunteering @shg and working there as a Getty Museum Intern. All My paper mache mask workshops paid off! I'm grateful, yet look forward to what the future holds. #ilaments #necklace #diadelosmuertos
