FORCES || Friends, it’s our first day back at HQ today and I had a whole spiel planned about 2020 and kicking goals and all the goodness we have coming out. But. I. Just. Can’t.
I can’t talk about our collective wellness at the same time as our land; our beautiful, beautiful land burns, burns, burns.
I’ve been thinking a lot about duality.
Black and white.
Fire and rain.
Shiva and shakti.
Creation and destruction.
Opposing forces.
Whilst I feel hopeless at this time; there is always hope - hope for rain. Hope for the families who’ve been affected. Hope for our land. Hope for our communities.
Whilst I feel devastated that our wildlife has been burned alive; people have lost their lives; homes and all their possessions destroyed I also feel hopeful.
Hopeful for the rebuild; the regeneration.
Hopeful for the rain.
Whilst so much has been lost; I’m hopeful for all that has been found.
Communities coming together. People opening their hearts and homes to strangers. Neighbours checking in on each other. Strangers giving, giving, giving.
We’ve had direct family members evacuated and serving on the front line.
We’ve donated $1000 to WIRES to help rehabilitate our precious wildlife. And we’re planning something special to help even more.
Thank you for supporting us which enables us to support others affected at this time.
Stay safe, look after each other.
And let’s remain hopeful for that rain. And may it rain. Lord, may it rain.
