“If you aren’t protecting your personal information online, you could be sharing things you would rather keep private.” – OAIC (Office of the Australian Information Commissioner) As more of our daily lives take place online for work, study and socialising, we may be sharing more than we realise. From contact details, to financial and sensitive information about our health and beliefs, are you certain about how far the information you share online travels? Online tracking, phishing scams and data breaches are just some of the issues that threaten our privacy, marking the importance for us all to pay more attention to protecting our personal information. May 3-9, 2021 marks OAIC’s Privacy Awareness Week (PAW) initiative, of which Integria Healthcare is a proud supporter. This year’s theme, ‘Make Privacy a Priority,’ highlights the necessity for us all to make sure we are taking the appropriate measures to protect ourselves online with the information we share. And even though most of us have a clear understanding of why we should protect our personal information, 49% of Australia don’t know how to protect their personal information online (Source: Australian Community Attitudes to Privacy Survey 2020). However, it’s faster and easier than you think. For some simple steps you can start taking today to protect your personal information, head to the OAIC website via https://www.oaic.gov.au/s/paw2021/ #PrivacyAwarenessWeek #MakePrivacyAPriority #ProtectYourPrivacy
