“There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure” - Colin Powell
This particular quote comes from a man named Colin Powell. Colin was the 65th secretary of state for the United States of America as well as the highest ranked African American government official. He served in this position for many years. Someone with these qualifications and this type of responsibility has a great outlook on how to gain success. And although he may not have direct experience with running a business, the responsibilities for working with the government and the road bumps along the way are very similar. I think Colin’s quote is very inspirational.
This is a great quote that says a lot about running a business. But not only can this advice apply to the business world but it can also apply to everyday life and everyday successes. Each of the elements involved- preparation, hard work and learning from failure- cannot stand alone to create success. A person who could have a great work ethic, and understands the value of working hard to gain advances and being successful, could potentially do well, but without knowing what they are working for and being prepared for exactly that, how can success be an guaranteed thing. A part of being prepared allows one to forecast potential problems that may arise and have potential solutions for them. As for learning from failure, if we have the chance to have failure we can learn to recognize problems and learn to avoid them.
