I have a lot of titles, but by far the most important of them all is MAMA 💕 Mother’s Day is this weekend & I’ve been spending a lot time thinking just how different I am at my (almost) 35 year old self vs my pre-kid 30 year old self.
My kids have taught me so many lessons & changed me in so many amazing ways. You can ask a lot of people who knew me before I had kids & what I was like. High strung, spastic, sensitive, and rigid are a few words they’d use to describe me. Immediately after I had Emmett, so much of me changed. I learned to go with the flow because plans with kids just never works out, let things go, and learn what matters. I put up boundaries and guarded my time more, and learned to live more in the moment because I blink and a year goes by 😭
They humanize you in the most gracious of ways, but also make you reflect on who you are as a person every waking moment. They make you put down your phone, look at what’s in front of you, test your patience and also have a lot of “is this really happening?!” moments 🤣
Before kids, I always thought how hard it must be to be responsible for shaping another human. Teaching them about life, morals, what’s wrong and what’s right, forgiveness, patience, grace, and more — but in reality and all along, they have been shaping me every day to be the best version of myself. 💓
