My cup was majorly filled today 😍 I had such an amazing experience to speak at an event by @thefoundryonmain & I shared my story, what inspired me and continues to inspire me, how we grew our business, what happened through COVID & what the future looks like for JO+CO!
This was the first time I’ve spoken in front of a group of people about my path to JO+CO. I do not view myself as an inspiration. I don’t have all the right answers nor am I the most successful boutique owner out there — but there are a few things I do know.
I do know I choose every day to show up and be a part of something that has grown to bigger than just about myself. It’s not just about proving to someone I can succeed at owning a business, or selling beautiful clothes.
I do know it’s about my kids seeing their mom work to build something from the ground up & seeing their dad support here to live out her dream. It’s about having my girls, who have chosen to work here because they believe in the mission and my vision for this business, show up to work every day to help support it. It’s about them dreaming along with me and seeing them leave at the end of the day with their cup filled.
I do know it’s more than just selling clothes. It’s about seeing the mom leaving the store with a little extra pep in her step because she feels more confident than she’s felt in months in her new top. It’s about a message from you hearing how me sharing about my miscarriages gave you the courage to talk openly about it with others too. It’s about a package being delivered to your doorstep, so when you get home from work after a horrible day where nothing went right, you rip open the package and immediately smile when you look in the mirror 💁🏼♀️
I don’t have all the answers. I don’t always make the right decisions. All I know is I feel damn lucky and flattered to have been asked to speak to an amazing group of women today & connect over our shared passion of entrepreneurship and our dreams ❤️ I hope one day I can do this again. 🙏🏼
