“Isn’t it crazy to think about where you started and how far you’ve come?” — my sister asked me this today when she came to visit me in the new office. I was in today trying to put together new warehouse bins & get inventory out put away when her comment made me pause ✋🏼
My friend also said something like this to me the day before & to be honest, no I don’t think about it enough. I don’t think about the 800 sq ft boutique I opened at 25 when I left New York and my life behind there. I don’t think a lot about the countless mistakes I’ve made and tears that have been shed 💔
I don’t think enough about all the amazing women I’ve had walk through my door to support my dream and also leave to pursue theirs. I don’t think about all the laughter, the relationships built, the hard life lessons learned 🙏🏼
Entepreneurish is kind of crazy like that, or maybe it’s just me, I don’t know 😂 I’ve been so focused on tomorrow, what’s next for JO+CO, or how to keep growing that I haven’t taken a moment to appreciate and respect where we started and where we’re at today.
So today, I stopped. I had flashbacks of the green walls in my first store…oh the green walls 😂 remembering sitting in front of my dads fire starting my Facebook page and being so excited about my first 100 likes. My niece and nephew visiting to play with the label printer. My husband proposing in front of one of my employees 💍
All of these amazing things have happened through the years & I’m so grateful for every experience. Every heartache. Every mistake. Every win and milestone. I still have no idea what I’m doing TBH 😜 but I do know me and my team have something amazing going on right now & I want to bottle it up so in a year from now or 10, I can remember exactly how surreal all of this feels ❤️
