As a small startup with a diverse team, we stand in solidarity with the victims of police brutality, the Black community and all those who are fighting for equality and change. ⁣ ⁣ At our very core, JOYÀ stands for the wellness of all people, for respecting and supporting our entire global community. But that doesn’t mean that I as a leader, and we as a team, don’t have a lot more to do in the fight against racism, prejudice and injustice. I am responsible for making meaningful changes — for contributing personally and ensuring we do so as an organization. ⁣ ⁣ As a wellness brand, we acknowledge that our industry feels overwhelmingly one-dimensional. Whether in food, clean beauty, lifestyle or other areas of wellness, the voices of BIPOC-owned brands and experts need to be amplified.⁣ ⁣ We are taking the time to listen and learn, to reflect on our privilege and to identify impactful ways that we can contribute to change, and my promise is that we will continue to do so. ⁣ ⁣ On an immediate basis, we are focusing on deliberately working with a more diverse group of content creators. We are also taking action to amplify Black voices, businesses and organizations, and are compiling resources in that regard that we will share in the coming days. ⁣ ⁣ I acknowledge that dismantling a long history of systemic oppression will take a lot of work and time, but we are committed to the ongoing fight for a better future. I am holding myself and JOYÀ accountable, and I ask that you hold us accountable.⁣ ⁣ Ruth Elnekave⁣ CEO and Founder, JOYÀ
