MANAGING OILY SKIN AND WHY YOU MIGHT BE DOING IT WRONG by the amazing @pure.elements.blog || I often hear people say they don’t like using oil based serums in their face because it will “make them break out” or because it will make their skin oily. Well let let me shed a little light on the subject. ?

I used to struggle with “greasy” skin too. I would use proactive, drying toners and blotting papers to try tomanage it. By using all these astringents and drying products, I actually did the opposite of what my skin needed and dried it out. My skin then needed to reproduce more oil as a defense mechanism to balance out the loss of moisture and natural oil. ?
•
Now oil attracts oil. This is why using a facial oil is amazing for oily, greasy skin, because it can help dissolve sebum, grease or makeup without removing your natural oils.?
•
Basically, your face feels like it has enough oil, so it doesn’t feel the need to produce extra. Greasy look gone! ? •
Now I wouldn’t suggest using just any oil from your kitchen. Jojoba oil is great because it is very similar to you skins own sebum, so it absorbs quickly. Fruit oils, rosehip oil or serum blends that include plant essential oils will work wonders for your skin. ??♀️

It does take a little getting use to, and I’ll usually use them in the evening when I can put my hair up, but using jojoba or sweet almond oil, that absorb quickly, will make the transition very easy for you. ?
