Baby got cows? 🐮❤️ Guys & girls don't neglect your calves... I see so many people smashing upper body and sometimes legs but neglecting such a important muscle ...
Sexy legs are not the only reason to work out your calf muscles. You need strong calves to walk, run and jump without injury. The strain placed on your muscles and tendons by weak calf muscles can put you out of commission for months. Exercising and stretching these important muscles is the first step to avoiding future pain.
Many people blame their lack of calf development on genetics when they should be putting the blame on themselves. Some times it's not that people don't train them at all it's they don't train them with enough intensity , they don't train them with enough frequency and some just don't know how to train them.
In order to get them to grow you must force them into growth with a good heavy weight. Go as heavy as you can and still use proper form. Also add volume hi rep , my favourite is min 50 reps up to 200 . I hit mine hard, start with heavy then dropsets and rest pauses . Also don't forget the importance of is foot position. There are three different positions: toes pointed forward, pointed out and pointed in. Each position really hits a different head of the muscle and allows you to create a really well developed calf. Stretching is very important part of calves training. I stretch mine between sets . Allows the blood flow to get into the muscle.
Here is my fav exercises: - Standing calf machine heel raise - Standing dumbbell or barbell heel raise
- Toe press on a leg press - Seated calf machine
