• ૐ• “Healing yourself is connected with healing others.” – Yoko Ono
I've lived in shares spaces of all shapes and sizes in the past, from share houses of 11 in the city to sustainable farming communities of 30, To living in a tipi sharing land and house with 5 of my closest sisters.
What I've experienced and observed through this is that when one person through a healing process, if others are not emotionally and energetically blocking themselves off from those around them, each person feels it. We all feel the darkness and pain that sparks the process, we all feel the deeper reflection into the emotion, we all experience the transmutation of what hurts into larger lessons and teachings of life, and we all recieve the growth and change that blesses the other side. This process is even more potent if people are open with eachother.
The most transformative time of my life was a result of living in a space with sisters who were so willing to hold space for eachother at any moment, who mutaually valued growth and who never put another down for being down.
The fascinating part is that when was going through something, just by being there for them, others would relate it to a part of them that wanted to be recognised to heal. The phenomena of empathy is an intrinsic part of the natural laws of nature
While holding space for another sympathetically, we experience our own space of healing empathetically.
This scale of collective healing is not bound to small sizes, we can harness this incredible gift we have been given to empathise on a global scale. We must begin to be truly O P E N with one another. We must learn to L I S T E N to eachother. It wont happen unless we T R U S T one another. And truly be wanting the best for eachother in our H E A R T and share a mutual passion for G R O W T H.
If collective healing on a global scale is hard to fathom, you can start by practicing these values with those you meet everyday. Little by little youl see that you can trust those around you and begin dropping your guard. The fear we hold in the world around me is against me mentality has truly got to go.
