I have always loved being pregnant. It hasn’t always worked out or been an easy experience for me but the times it did it was an amazing experience. I knew this would be my last pregnancy. We agreed no matter what the outcome was that this would be our final attempt. It was scary and emotional to try again after so much loss but I knew I had one more try left in me. I’m so happy we did because I lobe my son so freaking much and couldn’t imagine a world without him. He came 5 weeks early so I missed out on the last month of my pregnancy which was actually really emotional. On one hand I was just so happy he was alive and in my arms, but sad at how abruptly my pregnancy ended. Seems silly but it’s honest. I also didn’t realize how emotional I would be once having kids was no longer on the table. I don’t want anymore but the thought that we won’t be having anymore and can’t is crazy when a full decade of my life has been filled with pregnancies and family planning. Now this is it. This is my family. Such a weird concept. Did anyone else struggle with being done?
