From the incredible frannieandco... “Between us, there have been…
8 pregnancies.
4 babies born
3 babies here earthside
3 that didn’t make it.
2 more on the way.
It’s been a wild ride for both of us and for all the shit stuff we have endured I’m glad me met.
There is nothing like the sisterhood of loss and the support we have both received here.
I met minathemama like any millennial mom would - on Instagram. We had the same due day, shared anxiety and loss stories and general pregnancy woes.
Instantly we become friends. Bonding over texts mostly about how sore our vaginas were. She is that much younger and my tech support. Meaning - She regularly tells me how to turn on my laptop etc.
I think we probably text every day with some kind of motherhood support. Our babes were born 10 days apart almost a year ago and id say she is my Insta wife.
She was one of the first people I confided in when I found out I was pregnant this time. We had joked about it a couple of times, the way people do when they just gave birth. She was probably the only person I could think of who I knew who would be honest with me and knew exactly how I was feeling with a baby on my lap and a pregnancy test in my hand.
Fast forward a couple of weeks and I got the same freaked out phone call, with lots of WTF’s and yes that’s right she is pregnant too. She is a few weeks behind me but my god does it feel good to have company. What are the chances of all this, maybe these babies are as 'meant to be' as our friendship and part of the crazy journey we have been on. Loss is never straight forward and I know our stories are anything but simple.
To all the mamas out there struggling with loss hold onto the friends you make cos, there is only one positive to draw on all this and that’s the bond we make to get through it together.
There are so many people here who lift me up so thanks for being there in my DM's when I need you most.
And mina- thanks for the friendship, for taking your clothes off with me, for always supporting me even when are parenting styles differ, for jumping one cm off the floor and not caring how ridiculous we look! ⚡️✨”
